Voltage Bus Monitors


IHV-1 High Voltage Monitor

The IHV-1 is a high-voltage monitor that indicates when high-voltages are present in 3-phase power systems.  Indicators on the IHV-1 front panel flash, and audible "blips" are produced when high voltages are present.  The frequency of the flashes and blips is a useful indication of the voltage level.

No electrical connections to the phases are required to monitor voltages with the IHV-1.  Instead, patent-pending sensor pads sense phase voltages through the insulation on each phase cable (cables must not be shielded).  These self-adhering, "one-size-fits-all" sensor pads are easy to install, and can be used for all commonly used cable sizes.

Features and Specifications

IHV-2 High Voltage Monitor

The IHV-2 high voltage monitors indicate when high voltages are present on a conductor, such as a voltage bus.  The IHV-2 is mounted directly to the conductor being monitored, and there are no other necessary mechanical or electrical connections.  

Indicators, visible through the clear housing of the IHV-2, flash when high voltages are present.  The frequency of the flashes is a useful indication of the voltage level.  

The IHV-2 is self powered, and no electrical connections are required, other than a 1/2” mounting bolt.  Instead, the IHV-2 wirelessly draws operating current through a unique ground plate “antenna.”   

Two models are provided to cover a wide range of voltages.  The IHV-2-1 is recommended for Phase-Neutral voltages from 2kV - 15kV, and the IHV-2-2 is designed for  15kV - 30kV.

Features and Specifications

  • Five bright Indicator lamps provide excellent visibility with a wide viewing angle through the front lens of the IHV-2.  Additional indicators light the unit’s clear housing to provide nearly 360º visibility.

LLI-1 Live Line Indicator

The LLI-1 is a simple, inexpensive 3-phase voltage monitor. Lamps for each phase on the front panel flash when voltages are present. The flash rate increases with higher voltages and vice versa. 

Electrical connections are provided for each bus and ground.  The LL-1 is powered from the bus being monitored, so no additional connections are needed.

  • Inexpensive, simple way to add “voltage present” monitor to a 3-phase bus.
  • Simple to install and use.  No controls or calibration required.
  • Small size.  Requires only 3.25” x 3.5”  panel space.
  • Independent indicator lamps for each phase.  Lamps flash when phase is energized.
